Welcome to Scigenom Conferences 2011
Next-Generation Sequencing and Bioinformatics for Genomics & Healthcare

The cost of sequencing the first human genome was roughly US$ 2.7 billion and it took over ten years to complete. Now, a decade after the first genome was completed in 2001, the cost of sequencing a human genome is down to US$ 5000 and can be completed in a week’s time. This has been possible due to the emergence of next generation sequencing technologies in the past five years. It has created new challenges as well as opportunities in the study of fundamental biology and also positively impacted the application of genomics in personalized medicine. The conference will cover the Next Gen technology, Bioinformatics for data analysis and applications of Next-Gen sequencing.
