Profile

Dr. Andrew Peterson received a PhD in Genetics from Harvard University and was a post-doctoral fellow in the Department of Physiology at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). He became Assistant Professor of Genetics at the Duke University Medical Center and went on be Assistant Professor in Residence at the UCSF Department of Neurology before working at the Ernest Gallo Clinic and Research Center as a Principal Investigator. Currently, he is the Associate Director of Molecular Biology in Genentech.

About his research focus, Dr. Peterson says "We have primarily been using neural development as our biological paradigm for these investigations, but are beginning to branch out into metabolism. In addition to the largely postdoctoral based efforts of my own lab, I am very involved in a number of projects in Molecular Biology that are also based in murine genetics."
