About Delhi
Delhi situated on the banks of river Yamuna in the northern part of India, is a mix of two different worlds, Old Delhi the erstwhile capital of Islamic India, is a labyrinth of narrow lanes lined with crumbling streets and imposing mosques. In contrast, the imperial capital city of New Delhi created by the British rule is composed of spacious, tree-lined avenues and imposing government buildings. Delhi has been the sub-continent's seat of power for several rulers and many empires for about a millennium. Even the capital city of the epic Mahabarata - Indraprastha is believed to have been in present day New Delhi. Many a times the city was built, destroyed and then rebuilt again. Delhi is also the research capital of the country with many institutions of repute like Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi University, Jamia Millia University, Indian Institute of Technology, ICGEB, IGIB, NII etc.,

Getting around in Delhi
Delhi metro rail service http://www.delhimetrorail.com covers major parts of the city. Hire taxis and auto-rickshaws (tuk-tuks) are available at the metro-stations.

Delhi Tourism

English is the official conference language.

Climate
New Delhi has pleasant & charming weather in the month of November. The temperature ranges between 13-26 degrees Celsius (min-max). It will be little cool and sunny weather mid day. warm woolen clothing may be required in the evening.

Letter of invitation

Voltage
The line voltage for electricity is 220 A.C., 50 Hz in the subcontinent. Most 5 star hotels provide 110 volt A.C. points and mult-pin adaptors for guest use.

Passport & Visa Requirements
The entry formalities for India vary according to the country of origin. All visitors entering must possess a valid passport and delegates coming to attend conferences may combine tourism with attending conferences.
