Analabha Basu NIBMG

Analabha Basu has done his PhD in Population and Statistical genetics from the Indian Statistical Institute. After post doctoral training from Stanford University and University of California at San Francisco he joined the National Institute of BioMedical Genomics (NIBMG), Kalyani in 2009.

Analabha's research had two distinct components: theoretical method development as well as inferences from empirical evidence. Analabha’s major focus has been population diversity and evolution with special emphasis on India. His research interests include understanding complex genetic traits; ranging from skin pigmentation, possession of absolute pitch to cardiovascular diseases. He has worked extensively on methods and applications of admixture mapping. His recent interests include High-throughput sequencing data analysis and genetics of infectious diseases.
