Meeting Objectives

The goal of this symposia is to interface practicing physicians, clinical and research geneticist working on various aspects of familial diseases to provide an overview of the disease profiles in the Indian subcontinent and to discuss the potential for genomics to contribute to better diagnostic and management approaches.

About Organizers

The Department of Biotechnology at IIT Madras is reputed for a strong interdisciplinary research and academic standing in biological sciences, engineering and is in active collaboration with industries and health-care institutions. The focus of the department includes basic research in modern biotechnology and molecular basis of health and disease.

SciGenom Research Foundation (SGRF) is a not-for-profit organization, working to promote Science in India through research and education. SGRF is currently engaged in an effort to identify the genetic cause of rare and complex genetic disorders in collaboration with various academic institutions and hospitals.
