The 2019 NGBT meeting will be held in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
The 2019 NGBT meeting will start on Sep 30th at 8:30am and end on Oct 2nd at 6:15pm. We expect to have cultural events and conference dinner on Sep 30th and/or Oct 1st at 6:30pm.

Yes, it is possible to do spot registration but you will be required to make payment either through Debit/credit card or cash. However, to ensure you can attend the meeting, we ask that you register ahead as we have limited seats this time and we may close the registration early. We also strongly recommend that you register online before the early registration deadline to save on the registration fees.
If you are not an Indian national and will be travelling from overseas to attend the meeting you likely need a visa. Conference website has information on obtaining visa. If you are solely visiting India for the meeting you may obtain a "Conference Visa". However, recently the government of India has introduced e-Visa for nationals of many countries for tourism and casual business purposes. Abstract submission is not required (though encouraged for poster presentations). You can register without submitting an abstract.
Yes, though not preferred. However you must disclose this information during the submission process.
If you are not an invited speaker but wish to be considered for a speaking slot, please send your proposal/abstract (200 words) to ngbt2019@sgrf.org. We will send it to the organizing committee for evaluation and respond with their recommendations. We have a limited number of slots for speakers selected from the abstracts submitted and hence only abstracts those are able to convey the scientific depth and findings from the work are likely to be selected.
There are a number of student meeting scholarships and travel awards to support meeting attendance by students/post-docs. An abstract submission is required for student to be considered for the awards. Relevant information and criteria for this can be found at SGRF 2019 student meeting scholarships and travel awards on the website.
Cancellation request can be made by sending an email to ngbt2019@sgrf.org. Refund is applicable as shown below:
Till July 10th 2019 - 80% refund
Till September 1st 2019 - 50% refund
From September 1st 2019 onwards - No refund
Please note refunds will be issued after the conclusion of the meeting in October and will make every effort to get you refunded by October 30th, 2019.
Please send an email to ngbt2019@sgrf.org and we will assist you. Changes to the abstract after July 1st 2019 may not be possible, but will do our best to accommodate your request.
Please let us know by sending an email to ngbt2019@sgrf.org. We can mark your abstract as withdrawn should you wish. Please note that the cancellation policy described above (in Q10) will still apply for fee refund.

Mumbai is the headquarters of two zones of the Indian Railways: the Central Railway (CR) headquartered at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (formerly Victoria Terminus), and the Western Railway (WR) headquartered at Churchgate. Mumbai is also well connected to most parts of India by the Indian Railways. Long-distance trains originate from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, Dadar, Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Mumbai Central, Bandra Terminus, Andheri and Borivali.
Mumbai International Airport has pre-paid taxi services. Contact the airport taxi counter for help.You can also have your hotel arrange your pickup by directly contacting them. If you are an invited speaker the organizers will send you relevant information about local transportation.
India Rupees (INR) is the currency used in India. It is advised that you exchange ~100-300 USD worth of money to INR at the airport. You can exchange money at the hotel but the exchange rates may not be ideal. Currently 1 USD will fetch you ~63-65 INR.
Credits cards are widely accepted. Taj Lands End Mumbai accept American Express, Diner's Club, Master Card, Visa, JCB International. Please make sure you notify your bank or credit card issuer about your travel so they do not block you card when you try to use it in India. Several credit card companies charge a foreign transaction fee and you may wish to check with your credit card company before using your card.
Power (electricity) shortage is a problem in parts of India – 5 star hotels or similar class and a majority of the businesses will have backup power. India uses 230V, 50Hz power outlets. Plan to bring appropriate voltage converters and adapters as you see fit.
The deadline for applying scholarship is on July 1st , 2019.
A full award will cover your travel allowance and meeting registration. Partial awards will provide meeting registration waiver and some local transportation. You are expected to present your poster at the meeting and attend the meeting in full.
We will send you detailed information once the selection has been completed.
Abstract submitted will be used to select the meeting scholarship and travel award winners. Student abstracts with a clear introduction to the problem, brief methodology and interesting findings will have a high chance to winning.
The scholarship award notification emails will be sent out by September 1st, 2019.
You can only submit one paper and hence, one award per person will be made.
You need to register online for the meeting and submit your abstract online before July 1st 2019
